Our Oases & the coast tour takes you over the Atlas Mountains visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site Ait Benhaddou, Telouet, having the night under millions of stars at Erg Chigaga dunes, visit the sister city of Marrakech Taroudant and return back by the Atlantic coast.

  • Day1: Marrakech- Tizi-N-Tichka- Telouet- Ait Benhaddou (4 hour’s drive not including stops)
    Our private tour of Morocco leaves Marrakech early morning to reach the High Atlas Mountains. Beautiful landscape and small Berber villages, snow on the peak of the mountains as we face the pass Tizi n Tichka at 2260 meters high. Then we took the road to reach the Telouet Kasbah, the former Pasha’s palace, Pacha Glaoui had managed to overshadow the sultan by controlling most of nowadays Morocco and decided to build a palace in the middle of nowhere, where his family had originated from.
    Continue the journey to reach the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou and one of the best-preserved Kasbah’s in the entire Atlas region, the Kasbah has been the backdrop to many historical films, “Lawrence of Arabia”, “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones”.
  • Day2: Ait Benhaddou- Ouarzazate- Agdz- Zagora (3 hour’s drive not including stops)
    After breakfast, we cross Ouarzazate, famous by its film studios where recently scenes of “Game of Thrones” “Gladiator” and” Lawrence of Arabia” were shot.

    After leaving Ouarzazate, we cross the Anti- Atlas Mountain range to join the Draa Valley and Agdz. Draa Valley, with its many oases, Biblical villages and kasbahs, used as overnight stops by the caravans until not too long ago is the beginning of the caravan highway connecting for centuries Timbuktu, Gao and the kingdoms of Ghana and Mali to Morocco.
    Follow the route along the villages all the way to Zagora. Dinner and accommodation in a beautiful guest house on the heart of the palm grove.
  • Day 3: Zagora- Tamegroute- Mhamid-Erg Chigaga (3 hour’s drive not including stops)
    After breakfast, you can have a guided tour in the palm grove to learn about the local irrigation system and the life inside the palm grove. After we will visit Amezrou; the Jewish community had left behind the silver jewelry craft and the adobe synagogue. Later on, in Tamegroute, visit the library and the pottery ovens. The last stretch of the day wills takes us from Zagora to M’hamid, where the tarmac ends. 2 hours off road driving from M’hamid to Erg Chigaga. As you approach the dunes, you will be met by our camel man and trade the 4×4 for camels to arrive at the desert camp by the sunset time, eaten by candlelight accommodation on a private tent, or maybe you choose to sleep while watching the twinkling stars.
  • Day 4: Erg Chigaga- Foum Zguid- Taznakht- Taroudant (7 hour’s drive not including stops)
    Try not to miss the sunrise, after having breakfast we cross the sand dunes, our trip reaches the flat lake Iriki, nowadays completely dry. Later on, we will have a tea with a family of nomads. Then, we take on the Hamada, the stony desert, to finally reach Foum Zguid. On the way to Taroudanet, we pass through Taznakht, a carpet weaving center and center of Berber carpets trade.
    We reach Taroudant late afternoon, enjoying dinner around the lovely guest house patio.
  • Day 5: Taroudanet- Agadir/Taghazout- Marrakech (5 hour’s drive not including stops)
    Taroudant; known as the “Grandmother of Marrakech” because it looks like a smaller Marrakech with its surrounding ramparts, and was used briefly as the country’s capital by the Saadians in the 16th century, before thy moved onwards to the Red City “Marrakech”. We suggest a caleche tour around the city walls or wander the souks famous by honey, silver and Argan oil.

    To return back to Marrakech, you can choose to return back from Agadir by the highway or either enjoying Taghazout beach and back late evening to Marrakech.
